Obamas rethoric has gathered support for his candicacy amongst the younger generations. His message for change has struck a nerve with young people in the US tired of the sitting administration and the policies of the republicans and the sitting president George Bush. The Youtube generation is embrashing him as their candidate for the November election. At least if the buzztrend on Youtube is anything to go by.

Hillary Clinton receives more buzz in the blogosphere than Obama, at least on Alexa . There are minor differences between the two and the run up to Super Tuesday has not given either of them a lift compared to the other.

dutch politicsWelcome to the new political buzz barometer on dutch politics. Buzztrend is happy to present the first buzz barometer on Dutch politics.

On a regular basis we will follow how leading politicians are discussed in blogs, fora and news sites. We will analyse their visibility and how they relate to specific topics such as immigration, education, taxes and so on.

In addition we monitor how the political parties are being seen in the eye of the public.

Although not likely to be near general elections, dutch political developments are interesting to follow. After recent events, especially the rising and murder on Pim Fortuyn, (see another article on some background to current Dutch politics) the landscape has become very volatile and unpredictable, and the traditional fous on political parties is being contested by individuals, leaders of certain schools of thought, often more extreme than the traditional parties.

Los temas políticos que impactan con mayor fuerza tanto al PSOE como el Partido Popular entre los bloggers españoles son el empleo y la educación.

El tema de la educación ha tenido un impacto sostenido durante todo el período analizado; el tema del empleo muestra un declive hace unas cuatro a seis semanas, pero ha crecido significantemente durante las últimas cuatro semanas.

En el caso de ambos partidos, el tema de la vivienda ha perdido el papel como el asunto político más saliente: Desde los inicios de Diciembre - cuando vivienda era el asunto más saliente (mucho más en el caso del PP que en el caso del PSOE) - el declive ha sido bastante pronunciada.
